5 Ways To Push Your Boundaries and Improve Your Life

As a species, humans are capable of incredible things. The potential for learning, adaptation, development, and more is potentially limitless. However, at an individual level, it can be challenging to uncover your true capabilities and what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.

The reality is that many people don’t fully explore their brains and push the boundaries; instead, they simply amble along happily with their lot and enjoy life as it is. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with finding your happy medium and staying there. But, if that doesn’t appeal to you, and unlocking your potential is something you’re interested in exploring, you need to know more about how you can get from where you are now to where you want to be so you can truly harness your superpowers and get more from life.

These tips are designed to set you on an exhilarating journey towards greatness.

You could be great, you know. It’s all here in your head. And Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, there’s no doubt about that. The Sorting Hat to Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone 2011.

Set Goals

Greatness starts with a clear vision. What do you want to excel at? Whether it’s mastering a new language, honing a musical talent, or advancing in your career, set your goals and stay focused. Your determination will pave the way to your success.

Make a map of what you want your life to look like. What will make you happy, how will you feel fulfilled, and how do you envision the future? Even if it seems like a pie-in-the-sky dream right now, it can be a goal you can work towards.

Start Small

Imagine you’re climbing a ladder. Your end goal is at the top of the ladder, and you’re at the bottom.  You cannot get from the bottom to the top without climbing each rung of the ladder. Skipping each step or trying to take too large a stride can result in you tumbling back down to the floor and having to start all over again. Now, take this analogy and apply it to your goals.  Break goals down into smaller, more manageable goals and give yourself a good starting point so you can build up and move forward without having everything knocked out from underneath you.

Get Help with NLP

If you feel you have barriers in your way, or you are actually in your own way, and you want to be able to move forward and past any roadblocks you intentionally or unintentionally put in your way, then you might benefit from support or coaching.

In all likelihood, you know what you need to do to achieve your goals and be the kind of person you need to be. But changing that isn’t always easy; changing who you are and how you approach things can be hard. This is where NLP comes into play. But What is NLP?

NLP is neuro-linguistic programming, and it’s the practice of understanding how people organize thoughts, feelings, language, behavior, and results. NLP training can assist you with uncovering why you do what you do and how you process things so you can move forward and start releasing your dreams by giving you the tools to make beneficial changes.

Try New Things and Challenge Yourself

While it’s good to have your goals and follow them so you hit your projected timelines to stay on track, it’s worth looking at how you can push yourself and try new things to challenge who you are and what you’re capable of.

If you never experience anything, you’ll never know how you’ll react in different situations. The more experience you have, the more likely you’ll be able to get a more accurate measure of your responses.

This might mean pushing your boundaries and doing things that scare you for fun. It could be taking on new responsibilities at work, starting a new sport, or doing something out of your comfort zone, like volunteering, joining groups, hosting lectures, etc. Anything and everything that you haven’t done, wouldn’t normally do, and can help you succeed at your goals will be great for character building and pivotal for your progress.

Get Healthy

You don’t need to make your life harder by committing to an intense diet and fitness regime for your goals. But to be able to commit to your journey, you need to be fit and healthy to support your progress. This means eating a nutritious, balanced diet that gives your body the nutrients it needs. It means staying hydrated, getting a decent night’s sleep every night, and doing some form of exercise or movement, even if it’s just walking each day. The better your physical condition, the more mentally capable you will be, and the easier it will be to work toward your goals.
